Singapore, June 5, 2025 — At the recent LogiSYM panel “Intralogistics Transformed,” held in Singapore in conjunction with CeMAT Southeast Asia in May, industry leaders gathered to explore how automation, data intelligence, and integrated systems are reshaping retail logistics. Featured speakers included Ryan Zhang, Solution Advisor at Geekplus, and Kavin Gursev D’Souza, Head of Logistics at DFI Retail Group.

The panel explored four key themes:

•    The Automation Revolution in Intralogistics
•    Data-Driven Intralogistics – Analytics, AI, and Digital Twins
•    The Connected Ecosystem – Integration Challenges and Opportunities
•    Sustainability and Scalable Intralogistics

Adapting to an Automation-Driven Landscape & Real-World Success With DFI

The growth of e-commerce initially triggered widespread adoption of goods-to-person systems. Retailers now demand solutions that go beyond picking—covering vertical storage, pallet movement, and more complex operational workflows.

To meet these needs, Geekplus has developed a broader range of automation solutions, supporting applications like cross-docking, order staging, and hybrid picking scenarios. A notable example is the SkyCube project in Hong Kong, developed with DFI Retail Group.

Panelist Kavin Gursev D’Souza, Head of Logistics at DFI Retail Group, reinforced the real-world value of robotic automation. He highlighted Geekplus’ project in Hong Kong as a benchmark for success, underscoring how strategic automation improves logistics performance, scalability, and workforce satisfaction.

“Thanks to DFI’s support, our SkyCube project for Wellcome—one of Hong Kong’s leading supermarket brands under DFI—has been a success,” said Ryan. This hybrid Pallet-to-Person solution handles mixed inventory, from pallet storage to piece picking, using over 30 picking robots and 4-way shuttles. It maximizes vertical space, cuts manual labor, reduces errors, and delivers double the operational efficiency with long-term cost and safety benefits for Wellcome.

Flexible Integration for Every Business

Seamless integration remains key to successful intralogistics transformation. Geekplus offers modular, adaptable systems:

•    WES-based turnkey solutions for greenfield sites
•    ‘Black box’ integration for legacy systems
•
‘Gray box’ collaboration with in-house tech teams

These flexible models have enabled over 700 global implementations across a wide range of industries and warehouse environments.

Leveraging Data and Platform for Smarter Operations

Geekplus’ Intelligent Operation Platform (IOP) enables real-time analytics and low-code dashboard customization. The G-Plan digital twin tool supports layout simulation and operational planning.

Digital twins and data analytics empower customers to optimize operations with confidence and enhance decision-making across intralogistics.

Sustainable and Scalable Intralogistics

Warehouse automation also supports environmental and social sustainability, such as energy savings from ‘dark warehouse’ operations. In 2022, Geekplus solutions helped customers save over 16 million kWh of electricity and cut nearly 140,000 tons of CO₂.

At the same time, automation improves workplace conditions—reducing exposure to heat and allowing localized cooling around picking stations for better employee comfort and safety.

At the LogiSYM x CeMAT SEA panel, Geekplus showcased its forward-thinking approach to retail logistics—highlighting flexible automation, advanced data tools, and ESG impact, as demonstrated in real-world deployments like the SkyCube project with DFI. Alongside the panel, Geekplus also had a prominent booth at CeMAT Southeast Asia, which attracted heavy foot traffic, hosted numerous productive meetings, and reaffirmed the company’s leadership in intralogistics innovation across the region.
