ATLANTA OCTOBER 16, 2024 – Geekplus, the global leader in mobile robot and smart logistics solutions, has opened an Innovation Center in its 40,000-square-foot facility outside of Atlanta.
Customers visit the center to experience the company’s flexible, mobile approach to warehouse automation and can experience the entire suite of Geekplus Good-to-Person robot offerings.
Georgia State Representative Todd Jones (District 25) and Alex Warner, VP of Economic Development, Forsyth County Chamber gave remarks at the ribbon cutting ceremony.
By showcasing three mobile robot solutions, the Innovation Center presents Geekplus’ one-stop shop approach to order fulfillment automation. Its Shelf-to-Person solution is the most mobile Goods-to-Person solution on the market and it handles goods of all sizes. Customers choose this solution for its high flexibility, easy deployment and high throughput for rapid picking efficiency improvement. The Pallet-to-Person system provides vertical pallet storage and fast ground-level picking. These bulk storage capabilities make the solution ideal for 3PLs housing both B2B and B2C operations in the same warehouse. In the Tote-to-Person solution, two robots work together – a tote storage robot that spans up to 11 meters high coordinates with a quick picking robot on the ground level.
Customers can also experience the Vertical Sorting Wall and Geekplus’ popular PopPick, which is used by companies like UPS, Soccer.com and Orgill. Customers throughout North America come to Atlanta to experience the company’s offerings.
“In North America, the majority of our customers are in the retail and apparel industries, but that includes everyone from a consumer brand founded in the 19th Century to a third-party logistics provider working with numerous retailers in the same facility,” according to Rick DeFiesta, the company’s executive vice president of sales and solutions.
“Among those customers also are other companies that looked to a reliable, stable robotics partner to revolutionize their order fulfillment operations due to the staggering demands created by ballooning e-commerce sales.”
Companies pursue Goods-to-Person mobile robot warehouse automation to reduce fulfillment errors and increase picking speed but also as employee recruitment and retention tools. This technology, when coupled with the proprietary Geekplus robot and warehouse management software, replaces the inefficient and undesirable job of manual picking.
Instead of spending their time walking through a cavernous warehouse to locate and collect the products or items that have been ordered by consumers, associates work at a picking station where the goods are automatically shuttled to them.
