Shanghai Siemens Switchgear Co., Ltd. recently joined hands with Geek+, the global AMR leader, to upgrade its flexible intelligent factory and continues to lead the industry in lean production management.
The project easily meets lean logistics' Plan for Every Part (PFEP's)philosophy by:

In 2019, Shanghai Siemens Switchgear Co. partnered with Geek+ for the first time and successfully built a full-process intelligent logistics factory with 4 types of Geek+ robots. The project realized the full-process logistics automation from inbound, to in-store stock management, outbound stock collection and production line delivery, and opened up the whole chain of material information.
With the business growth of Shanghai Siemens Switchgear Co., Ltd, there are new demands for storage capacity, material informatization, distribution timeliness and accuracy. The implementation of PFEP (Plan For Every Part) logistics model is a key step for Siemens Switchgear Shanghai to explore lean production.
Based on the results and smooth cooperation of the Phase I project, Siemens Switchgear Shanghai Co., Ltd. joined with Geek+ again to explore a new mode of PFEP logistics production, which can reduce the introduction of additional 30+ labor and save 40+ labor costs in total by using the robot solution.
Comprehensive Upgrade Lean Production Advancement
The second phase of the project will be online in 2022. Geek+ has created a full-flow flexible multi-robot cluster solution for Siemens Switchgear Shanghai Co. It has achieved an industry breakthrough in intelligent transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry.
Shanghai Siemens Switchgear Co., Ltd. has verified the application of the MP1000R intelligent handling robot in the production line in the first phase of the project, and has purchased 18 sets of MP1000R in bulk to completely transform the production line logistics.
The laser SLAM navigation method of the MP1000R robot allows the customer to quickly deploy it in a production line area of nearly 1,000 square meters without stopping production and put it into use quickly.
The system calculates the most efficient and low-consumption production rhythm to automatically call the robot, realizing the on-time distribution of circuit breaker and low-voltage cabinet production raw materials based on single-machine production, with precise matching of delivery time and quantity, halving the occupied area on the line side, and an accuracy rate of over 99.98%.
In order to meet the demand of doubling the inventory and freeing up the labor of the hoist loading workers, Geek plus provided Shanghai Siemens Switchgear Co., Ltd. with a robot equipped with a square pallet loading, which directly connects to the low-level hoist, realizing unmanned automatic handover and saving working space while expanding the storage area.
In addition, to make fuller use of the factory space, Shanghai Siemens Switchgear Co., Ltd. built a steel platform structure on the second floor of the warehouse, and P800R handling racks are accessed across floors. Through the layout adjustment and unmanned upgrade of receiving and storage areas, the storage area of Siemens Switchgear Shanghai Co., Ltd. has increased by more than 3,000㎡.

In the Four-Way Shuttle Solution vertical storage area, in order to meet the demand for more material storage and efficient access of Shanghai Siemens Switchgear Co. By adding a new hoist, the pallets are automatically docked to the P800R, which automates the whole process from the raw material warehouse to the production line supply.
In addition, Geek+ on-site engineers patiently listened to the customer's needs and optimized the Four-Way Shuttle Solution path and picking workstation layout to gradually double the outbound efficiency from the initial 500 trays per day to meet the daily picking outbound handling task of 1,000 trays.
