The Hongkong Post Robotic Packet Sorting System, developed by Geek+, won the Sliver Award (Smart Logistics) at the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2023 – Smart Mobility Award. The robotic packet sorting system is operating in Hongkong Post Central Mail Centre and the new technology promises to transform and streamline the packet sorting process in order to improve the efficiency of mail handling.
Geek+'s proprietary sorting and moving robots enabled Hongkong Post to simplify the overall workflow and achieve a more efficient and accurate sorting process in comparison to the traditional manual sorting process which is more labour intensive. The sorting capacity of the robotic system can reach up to 1,000 packets per hour, enhancing picking efficiency and maximizing output.
This collaboration marks a new era of mail sorting with robotics technology. With the help of the cutting-edge hybrid solution, Hongkong Post can speed up mail sorting and provide reliable and efficient postal services to its customers.
The Hong Kong ICT Awards was established in 2006 with the collaborative efforts of the industry, academia and the Government. Steered by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, and organised by Hong Kong ICT industry associations and professional bodies, the Awards aims at building a locally espoused and internationally acclaimed brand of ICT awards.
